Hopeful Calm & Beginnings
I am on a lifelong journey of discovery for those moments that elicit feelings of calm and provide aspirations for new opportunity in the world around us, whether altered by humans or in the natural world.
While on this journey I have experienced moments that have evoked those emotions. The images in this exhibit represent visual discoveries that have provided me with an instinctive reaction, at first as a sense of contentment followed by hints of excitement and, of course, a desire to uncover more. I have chosen the images in this collection because I was particularly drawn to the intersections of light, color, texture, line and rhythm.
In the beginning of the day, dawn brings us a sense of calm. Throughout the day, as sunlight traverses across our immediate environs, our senses find peace with the shapes, lines and textures before us. As light is reflected in an ever-changing manner before departing for the day, we again are reassured that tomorrow, we will have yet another opportunity to be in a place of calm, and seek a new beginning.
